While in custody for his blasphemous writings, scandalous transgressions and refusal to repent - The Marquis de Sade's  last years were spent in the 'hospital prison'  known as Charenton Asylum - where de Sade kept secret journals and diaries of his everyday life and past glories - simple daily routines and some outstanding entries about nasty quarrels, erotic adventures, etc...

He wrote in these journals faithfully - Four journals were said to have existed but over the years only ONE & FOUR have been found and are included in this small book edition - some letters from around this time and some working notes for his pornographic novel 'Days at Florbelle' are also included.

Almost 67 years old when Journal one starts in 1807-'08  -- the Fourth Journal begins in 1814 - only these two have been found out of a series of four Diary Journals - de Sade died in custody on December 2nd 1814 - Rare Scarce Item.
